new member and a question
hey guys, I am new to these boards and am looking forward to learning more about cbrs in the near future. I recently purchased my first motorcycle that i can truly call my own. I have been riding since I was about 5, mostly on dirt bikes, and i love motorcycles.
Anyways, i got a 94 cbr 600 f2 that has some body damage. the engine seems to run alright, but it has been sitting for a while. i was thinking of draining the gas and cleaning the carbs to get it back to ebing road worthy, possibly a plug change if it needs it.
My question right now deals with the front fairing bracket. The one on mine is broken in one spot. First I'm wondering if that is something that I would bend back into position and then weld it? The metal is broken so i'm not sure if thats an option. If i do replace it, will a bracket from a 98 f3 fit it? Or should i looks exclusively for the one of an f2?
another thing I'm wondering is I heard about a motorcycle junk yard near me. Does anyone have experiance with obtaining parts from such a place? I'm thinking it would be cheaper than ebay or any other online site.
Thanks in advance for anything you experts can offer me. I'm and sure i will be back with many questions in the near future as i try to ready the bike for next summer.
Thanks

From what I've read that front braket is real crappy. I think an f3 will fit, and since you have a junkyard close it shouldn't be to hard to find out. I've always gone to junkyards for car parts that weren't critical and I've never had a problem. I would drain the gas tank, and depending on your level of expertise a major tune-up wouldn't hurt.
