need help with elec. problem.
hi, i have a 93 600 f2. ive had this thing for about a month now, just started riding it during the last week. i bought a new battery for it. guy at the store gave it a quick charge. i ran the bike around before finding out youre supposed to slow charge the battery to full capacity right after you buy it. would that drastically change the ability to hold a charge?
i got a battery tender, so riding the bike after charging the battery is great. after riding for a while, the lights start to dim and the bike has been cutting out at stops, requiring a jump start to get going again. i also notice that the turn signal will start to blink progressively faster until it seems like its solid on. am i looking at a problem with a crap battery, or is my charging system defective? or could something else be draining the battery?
thanks, john

RE: need help with elec. problem.
When I bought my battery the guy just charged it for about an hour and I was good to go.
It may be your rectifier/regulator and/or stator is bad
this is what you might do:
- re-charge your battery
- get a volt meter
- put battery back in bike...and use volt meter to see how charged your battery is when bike is OFF
- turn on bike...then use volt meter to see if your battery is being charged....mine has a long set of lights...the more the battery is being charged, the more lights turn on.
-this should tell you if your charging system is working properly... if it is charging properly-- even at low rpm...then your battery may be bad.
I got a volt meter from radio shack for about 7 bucks.
