Default Need CCT

I think I need a CCT. I have read many posts on the OEM vs Aftermarket. My question is, if you go to with a aftermarket do you adjust it once and leave it alone? Also as I am new here is there a preffered CCT?

The manual one requires a VERY minor adjustment from time to time, but its really minor and I dont think theres any set intervals for how often it needs to be adjusted. I prefer the APE manual units, they're just well constructed pieces.

I prefer the OEM ones...you just put em in and they're good for at least 10k..maybe 20k...its not worth the extra $20 savings MAYBE to have to take the side fairing off and readjust every so often

Was just on the APE site and don't see where you can place an order. Can we buy direct from them or go through a dealer?

Adjusting the manual tensioner should be done when you do a routine maintenence on the bike. This is due to the chain stretching over time or the chain guide wearing down. They will last forever though, almost.

well, probably much longer than the rest of the bike more than likely.

the APE tensioners really arent bad at all when it comes to maintaining something, I mean if you dont mind making the odd adjustment here and there. OEM or aftermarket is up to you in the long run. I like APE myself, personal preference, thats all.

You also have to watch that you don't over tighten the manual on too.(stretching the cam chain is not very cool)I still have the stock one for now but when it starts chattering i am putting a aftermarket one on.
