The Armour stuff was close, perfect on the upper and lower,it's just 2 pieces, but the tail sits so high above the frame I use a brace the previous racer had to support it.And on 1 side where it should line up to the lower it is formed in reverse,so I used a zip tie.Hard to explain without a picture, but they are fantastic panels, very flexible, kevlar reinforced f/glass.I used Dzeus fasteners on the upper/lower.
I always wanted to cut the tail piece and just use a stock seat.

Hey "partsguy" what did all that engine work cost? I know it was a long time ago but a guesstimate will do. Just wondering. I'm sure it was a lot, especially for 12ish hp. Was it worth it? If you had to do it over would you still have done it?

The whole thing cost a fraction of what it would normally cost.Working at a dealer I got everything at cost and I got petty much all the labour for free. No,I wouldn't do it again, not to an F2,maybe an RR.I'd have to guess the cost would be over 3g's,I kept track for a while then I just didn't want to know. Then there's another $1400 in body, paint and powder coating.

Dam, 3g's! Back then it kind of made sense. It wouldn't make any sense now. That kind of money plus the sale of an old f2 could go toward the purchase of a newer/faster bike that would be more reliable. Thanks

That bike was more reliable than anything I've ever owned. The only problem I had was the spark plug threads got a bit stripped from constantly checking them and one day it wouldn't pull well past 7000 in 4-6th gears.NOBODY could figure it out, everything was checked by lots of different mechanics and myself.I was pulling the plugs again and thought"what if they aren't seating all the way?",pulled the head, repaired all 4,screaming top end again.Problem was it was several years before it was done.Thats why it was only sold last year.
