Got a few things done.

Battled the dmv lines and got the registration done.
Fixed the fork seals today, not as hard as I thought it was going to be.
Got 2 new to me used pirelli diablo tires.

Anxiously getting closer

Few small changes to the bike.

Painted the rear fairing black and installed some new Pro Grip 699 Black Grips "Grips not pictured on the bike"
I previously had the cheap Ebay Red/Clear CBR gel grips and the vibration was terrible. I couldn't ride the 20 miles to work without my hands going numb. With the new grips the vibration is almost completely gone.

From These

To These

HHHMMM whats that sound ......... Luckily it didn't damage the rotor. Replaced the rear pads with some EBC organics

I also picked up a 99 F4 rear shock and some weighted bar ends and will be installing them soon.
Im going to take measurements of everything with the shock swap and will do a write up on that as soon as i get it done.

Tail being black makes the bike look 100% better IMO.

After just riding my F2 for awhile now i decided to finally tackle the F4i fairing swap after reading Ricecooker and Dementedf3's writeup for a bit now. These are the same F4 side fairing i originally had, just sanded and repainted. I know my stripes are off a bit, but oh well.
The mirrors are from a 954RR. A bit shorter stalk so they dont stick out so far.
Here is the front and sides done. Still need to wire up the headlight and im also doing the 05 600rr tail swap hopefully today.
Thanks for taking the time to document your bikes as it made me much more at ease about doing this.
Also changed the oil to Rotella T6 and purolater filter.

Between work, the wife and just life in general i havent had much time to do anything lately.
Got the tail done today. I think im going to try and fab up a undertail to fill in the back. Kinda looks wide open.
I also need to adjust the seat some as it sticks up just a bit in the front by the tank.
I followed this writeup for wiring the headlight which applies to our F2 models also.

The difference in aerodynamics between the old F4 bodywork and the new F4i front is huge. The bike is a lot more smooth on the freeway and the wind blowing on me isn't as bad as it was before.

Also changing the oil to the Rotella T6 made a difference too. Feels like the engine runs smoother and feels faster. Might just be that i haven't ridden in a few weeks now.
