Default More questions. Newbie here

well like i said on my previous posts i just got my first bike and im loving it. Ive been riding everyday ever since i got it. But today i ran into a problem, for some reasson when i was warming up the bike after like 2 or 3 mins, the bike started to sound kinda weird and all of a sudden it died. So i tried to start it again and nothing and nothing. Well after half an hour of thinking what could it be i came to the conclusion it was fuel related. Now here is the question, have any of u guys experienced problems with the valve that controls the fuel coming of the tank? the one that says res, on, off.? Cuz after unplugging that valve and giving it some vaccum manually i got the bike to start again. So i was wondering if thats like a common problem or something on this f2's. Oh yea i noticed also that everyonce in a while the bike would die with no reasson, but it would start right away. Any input would be appreciated.

Did you drain the old gas when you bought it and add new gas when you bought it? If not you could have ran dirty fuel through the bike. Just a thought. Maybe check the fuel filter and replace if needed. <Shrug>

For me it was my battery dying because my charging system was messed up.

Sometimes it would charge the battery, other times not.

Check rectifier/regulator..and stator maybe?

Did you check out that vacumn line to insure there are no leaks in it??? If your vacum line leaks, your petcock closes and you get no fuel. The petcock is vacum operated to keep your bike from flooding or even having a hydraulic lock up when the engine is off. My advise to everyone on these older bikes is to shut the petcock off manually when you're not riding it just in case.
