the leds with the music was really cool. and with them around the engine it looks like there is some kind of alien craft hiding in there.

 

oznium.com is a good source. plus go with led strips rather than pods if you can.they throw off way more light and arent as bulky,directional,or heavy believe me i know

I see you can buy individual strips but is there a install kit? I'm fairly new to this! But thanks again, I was torn between a very cheap kit and a very expensive but these seem reasonably priced and evidently work well!

 

Others here also swear by Streetglow kits. I went with Freymoto's Fusion MC-X6 because I wanted a million color kit and they're one of the distributors of my bike's alarm.

Seems like with the Streetglow you get more lights than mine, but the remote controller / fob costs extra. Which pushes their price over my kit's price

 

Hmmm the fusion MX-X6 kit is also very tempting! I realy like the different patterns! Did you do the instalation your self? And do you have to hook up a swich or just hook it to the better and use the remote? Thanks for all the responses!

Did it all myself while I had the fairings off for painting. Took bout a half hour (mostly routing the wires back to the controller safely). Just the red & black wire to the battery & putting the controller somewhere safe-ish (I stuck mine in the battery compartment). Plug & play. I'll try to take a video of it tomorrow after work. Have to put the battery back in the bike.

Oh yeah, that reminds me of 1 caveat about remote devices: they will drain your battery. Since the receiver is essentially 'always on' (waiting for a signal from the remote), it is constantly drawing power. Low power but it will drain the battery below ignition power in about 2 weeks if the bike isn't run (completely dead shortly thereafter). My battery is on the dining room floor because of this (bike is down till I replace the fairing stay). I have a toggle switch on my dash from the previous owner's 'attempt' at a DIY LED kit that I can wire in to keep it from drawing power during long idle periods.
