Default keeps cutting off when trying to put in gear?

what up guys i just got a 93 cbr f2 . i bought for a guy and it didn't run. he said the spark plugs fouled out. so today i replace it and it fired right up! i then tried to take it out for a test ride and as soon as i put it in to first gear it just died( stoped running). i then put it in nuetral and started it again. this time i tried to put in 2nd gear. it died again.

any takers onwhat it might be? any info would help thank you ..

check your kickstand safety switch. sounds like its sticking, or not working right.

i would say that the kick stand switch ias your problem.. is the side stand light on all the time?

Try starting it in gear with the kickstand up. If it won't start, it's more than likely the safety switch. Only other thing I can think of would be some kind of clutch problem. Maybe a bad cable?

It could be the clutch diode located on the right side of the frame as your sat on it.. take the fairing off lower and you'll see the loom going nowhere up the side of the frame, with what looks like something to plug a diagnostic into with a blank plug on the end wrapped up with tape, thats the diode.
