I dont have any pics yet but i gotta say ive owned a 97 and love the bike. I picked it up for a $1000 which is great.Im gonna be riding it all winter in NY wanted some advise on tires thatll handle well in rain or icy conditions? Also the kid who owned the bike put stickers on it after a new paint job is there any way to take them off without damaging the paint? Deffinately would love to hear your opinions thx

Gently warm the sticker with a hairdryer first. The heat will make the sticker flexible and make the glue soften. If you can get an edge started, you can use lighter fluid to help disolve the glue. Only lighter fluid. Any other solvents will either damage the paint or not work well enough. You can get it in cans at some drug stores.

Tires are personal choices. None of them will like icy conditions. But, the new Michelin pilots get good reviews for road work in rainy weather. I run them on my F2. The sportier the tire, the less likely it will work well in winter conditions.

I've had a great experience with conti road attack 2s. I put the 120/70 on the front and raised the fork tubes 10 mm. Great upgrade. Scrape footpegs with confidence in twistys and ride in the rain with no worrys. quick warm up and good tire life.

I've been running inexpensive Continental Conti-motions in the stock sizes and been very happy with them in dry and wet. I don't go out and try to drag a knee every day though - if that's more your style, I'd look at the Dunlop Q2's or the Michelin's previously mentioned.

Despite the bad rep the Shinko tires get in a lot of forums, several people around here have used some of the newer models with a lot of positive feedback. Since it seems a lot of motorcycle shops stock the Shinkos as a value-priced tire, you might be able to find them locally and save on the mounting fees most shops put on tires not purchased in their shop. I think JesseAwesome was running them - maybe he'll chime in with the particular model.
