I was on craigslist when I saw this 94 f2 for $1200 and couldn't help but to find out more about it. Plastics are like new aftermarket exhaust, rear tire needs to be replaced, 22k miles, and however, the temp gauge does not work he says the fan is always running. What could the problem be with that?

Here's his ad cbr 600

Tell me what you think and rather it's worth it or not

Could be a short in the fan sensor, or could be running hot. Does the fan come on
as soon as the bike is started? BEFORE it warms up? If so probably a short and/or bad temp sensor to the fan.

The guages use a seperate sensor to read/report engine temp. The thing to look for...
is it hooked up to the harness? If it's like the F3, the little bugger is down by
the CCT, below the air-box. Lazy mechanics don't always replace the harness wire.
Check there first.

Other-wise the price isn't bad at all. New tire's gonna cost you a couple of dead
presidents, so factor that into the budget. I would advise, if you're serious, pay the
$80-ish and have your local dealer-ship scope it out. Trust me it's cheaper to lose
a few bucks now than be obligated to make your $1200 work by throwing another
$1200 at it later.
