im in the dark! help a fellow out
has your f2's headlight ever gone out and came back on while riding spiritedly? well mine has, and on my last hypersonic highway ride, my head light went out. i figured hey, the bulb has done its time. i inspect the bulb and it looks fine but just to test i install a brand new bulb....still...darkness, checked the fuse.....fine. all electricals...fine. brake, signals....just no headlight. not even the manual could help me with this 1. i would hate to think wire damage but how, what else could be causing this? some one please shed some light on this for me.
Not really a solution but something you might want to look at. I notice that the headlight generally shuts off when I try cranking the bike to start. I'm guessing there's some kind of relay that controls this switching and perhaps you'll want to replace that. If I had this problem I'd start really dumb-dumb simple, like using alcohol or an areosol electronic cleaner on the terminals and plug for the bulb. Then I would work my way from one end of the circuit to the other inspecting the wires and fuses as you have done. I'd probably take it a step further and use a continuity tester and maybe a multimeter and check for unusual resistance. perhaps something has lost its insulation and once you are moving fast is able to ground itself on the frame creating a short?
those are just the first few things that come to mind, basically pot-shots but maybe something will work for you or inspire to think of the solution.
good luck, I always though electrical problems were a bitch.

my headlight went out just about a month and a half ago, it was the connection in the starter, the box on the right handle bar, it got disconected. can either replace it or bypass it.
