I just bought a 1991 f2 and put it back together. I cleaned the carbs and fuel tank and added a battery. She started right up and idles around 3000 and slowly creeps up to 4000 rpms. The idle *** takes it down to only 2500 but it again creeps up to 3500. Do i need to adjust the throttle or carbs?? I am an aircraft mechanic so motorcycles are new to me

 

never mind i figurerd it out. Carb Sync.

 

unless your butterflies are wtf outta wack a carb sync probly isnt the problem. first 2 things id check is a vacum leak or ur choke plungers.

 

1 of them was 1/4 of the way open at idle while the rest were closed i just got a filler gage and matched it with the other 3 now it idles perfect at 1300 rpm and i can adjust it with the idle screw.
