there isnt really enough room in the fron end of the bike or in the headlight assembly to use a cars projector/ hid setup.. i was looking into doing the same thing that you want to do, i decided that it would bebetter money spent on a kit that is plug and play.. good luck

You are going to spend way way to much on something simple. The HID kit I mentioned works very well in the stock headlamp and fits well behind the light and behind the gauges. What you are talking about is modifying the headlamp to get a set of projector headlamps. Like CBRJEEPER said, there are two options, eather take a set of projector lamps, and use a race body that you can cut out yourself and modify your own set, or go the cheap way like I did and use the stock headlamp, keeping the stock apperance, like I wanted, and get the advantages of the HID even with the stock headlight. Its up to you, but its a hole lot of work. I personally dont like the way custom projector lamps looks, expecally if they are not done right. I like the stock apperance in the sence. But my 2 cents would be buy the HID kit and use the stock headlamp save the rest of your money on other areas of your bike.

im worried about the amount of glare that would be produced with a plug and play hid kit.
