Default Head comming off

I have a91 honda cbr f2 33,000 miles on it.. Im gettin about 39 miles per gallon but when i put the clutch it at times it will stall... i've synced carbs, cleaned them... but when i took my carbs off on 4 out of 8 of the valves were just covered in carbon.. also every gas tank my mileage is getting worse.... so i wanna adjust valves and do a timing chain while in there so i figured im that much i might as well just take the head off and clean all valves... besides basics anything i should look for with the f2... i have heard it can be known to crack exhaust valves... anything else major i should get ready to order... im debating new valves springs just dont wanna spend the money...

All that engine work really seems unnecessary. My 94 has the same amount of miles on it. If it's stalling when you pull the clutch in the clutch may be adjusted poorly, does it creep forward if the bike is in gear and the clutch is pulled in? I'd look more into the clutch situation, maybe worn bearings or springs. I wrote a HowTo for putting a shift kit in an F2 so if you find that thread in the HowTo forum there will be some pics of the F2 clutch, and also I link to another really good more complete shift kit thread for an f4i that has even more detailed clutch photos and info.
Is the timing chain really necessary? Most F2's see an improvement when installing a manual CCT. I'd look at carb adjustment, and if a jet kit was improperly installed by a previous owner. If your bike has a pipe and a high flow air filter in it, it is probably jetted.
Just my opinion but I really don't think you are going to gain much by pulling the head and replacing the cam chain. Maybe add a fuel filter if your carbs are gumming up.

The carbs are tuned correctly and so are all the screws.... but i did look at the exhaust valves today cuz i pulled down the exhaust they were all white from bein overheated.... the intakes have alot of carbon on them because a few years back i used to run the bike real real rich... i dont mind doing the work i mean i have basically the head off in about an hr of my time..... i figure im in that far to shim the valves since its been a while might as well pull a few more bolts and clean out all the valves atleast.... i ordered a manual cct so hopefully that will help....
