I'm trying to trade my '93 F2. But there's a problem with the battery. Now the battery absolutely will not hold charge. You can charge it on your basic bike battery charger, take it off and put it back in the bike instantly and it will barely have enough juice to turn the dash lights on. They're dim. You can jump the bike, and rev it to the max as long as the cables are hooked to your car. If you take the cables off it will idle for a minute, but if you try to give it throttle the battery dies instantly.

I'm not sure what's wrong so I don't know what to tell people.. does it just need a new battery? Or could it be something deeper?

Sorry if this is the wrong section.

Maybe I'm missing something here. But if your battery isn't holding a charge. Get a new battery. It's a lot easier to sell/trade a bike that idles and runs properly. Then you don't have to tell people anything, you can just let them listen to the bike run.

Last I heard you werent supposed to jump a motorcycle with a car. And if you do, dont start the car, leave the engine off and just connect the cables. Dont know if its true but thats what I heard. Go to WallyWorld and buy a cheap battery. Its a small price to pay to prove the bike you are selling runs etc. Get the battery for the cbr 08 1000rr, its the same battery they use in their scooters, smaller, lighter, cheaper, especially at WW. I'll see if I can find the WW numbers for the 08 1k battery............................ Everstart 5LBS. $23 5yrs ago, probably still less the $30.
