Had to let go...
Well, i had to sell my F2 friday. But for good reason, UPGRADE! Okay, not really but it feels like it. i was bummin around on craigslist and found another F2 in a helluvalot better condition. bought it the next day. The old one was developing more demons than i wished to deal with.
I plan on repainting the bike. I know about the bondo/sanding procedure but was wondering what type of paints to buy, figured the local Home Depot wasnt gonna work. also is there a specific type of clear to get? And where the best place to get these paints would be. Any insight is appreciated.
Will post pics as soon as my camera is returned. buddy is using it at the moment.

congrats on the new purchase!
I know nothing on the lines of the paints and clearcoats, however if you wana get ghetto, I've seen several guides posted for spraypainting with krylon.
You could check with honda, I know the paint code is located somewhere on the frame, so they may be able to help you after that.

I shot my bike out last year with standard Base and Clear that you would use on any other car. The only thing I did different is used and adhesion promoter for the plastic. I used Bullydog, it was designed for painting plastic bumpers and stuff, you can add it in with your primer or lay down by itself. I have had no problems with my paints since.
This is what I did a couple of weeks ago with some ppg paint for automotive and a gun.

I used Duplicolor Paint Shop system availible from any Autozone / Pepboys and a spray gun to do this https://cbrforum.com/forum/showpost....0&postcount=22
Primer was okay. The metallic paint was great. The clear coat sucks

The same amount of prep I put into my Duplicolor Paint Shop job would make HoK look professionally done. By the same token, the same amount of prep I used put into a rattlecan job would look like ***
