grips
Try hair-spray. Clean the bars up of old glue, etc. then hose the inside of the grip
and shove it on before it drys. Give it a day to be sure it sets after you get the grips
on. If you want ot save the old grips for whatever reason, use an air nozzle and
spray it under the edges of the grip to ballon it loose.

Depends on the grips used , some will do okay without & some - foamy for instance
will positively twist without glue .... I always glue mine no matter what
Proper purpose made Grip Glue such as Renthals or Scotts when applied make the
grips slick enough to slide on easily .....and they are easily taken off later with
a shot of compressed air ...... any old generic glue on the other hand can get messy
depending on what was used and can be a pita to get off and cleaned up

I use rubbing alcohol for easy installation. I used to use hairspray on my mountain bikes but when I get even just a little moisture on them, the grips easily come off especially with twisting motions.
I dont bother with glue, just clean the bars well with isopropyl alcohol, pour a little bit in the grip, shake it around, and slide em on. Give em a hour or two, the alcohol evaporates, and your grips are stuck. Do all my bicycles and motos like that, never had a problem.
