I am writing to check two things, first if I filled my tank a while ago (didn't do much riding, so its pretty full) and then today I put on my trunk kit which required removing the gas tank and my fuel line (going from the tank to the T). The fuel line would not come off, so I had to cut it off. Then when I removed the tank and sat it down gasoline started coming out through the smaller of the two breather holes (they have lines leading away from the tank). First is this to be expected when the gas tank is full? Second are these two lines/holes breather lines or over flow, or what I am guessing is one of each?

 

u have 2 lines in and out, smaller line is breather, larger is overflow. if u had ur filler seal ( cap open ) broken then u will have gas pour from the overflow line line. hope this helps

 

Thanks Woody, thats what I was thinking. Here is some additional infomation; the gas was coming out of the smaller line. Then when I opened the gas cap (tank lid) the gas came out of the overflow, the larger line!

 

Oh yeah are the fuel lines a special gauge, anyone know it? I went to shucks and the closest one they had didn't work! Maybe the next size down with a little more force?
