Hey guys..I've been reading behind the scenes trying to soak up as much as I could before posting but this one issue I know I need some input. I recently bought a F2 as a project bike. The previous owner said there was "something wrong with the motor". I know it's vague so I went through all the common problems(RR,fuses,) and everything electrical seemed okay except the starter which kept on spinning but not cranking the motor over so I took off the stator cover and discovered this. . . .




Do you guys think a new gear would still fit in there or would I be better off getting a new donor motor?

 

The cases are done.The only way to fix it is to have the case milled down and a new boss TIG welded on by a reputable machine shop. The alignment of all that stuff is key so make sure they know their stuff and have done case repair before. A full engine swap is probably easier.
