frame sliders, lowering, cheap fairing
ok so i'm a newb on this whole motorcycle thing, first of all i'm a diy kinda guy, i pulled off my carbs and cleaned them myself thanks to the diy guide on this site instead of taking to a pro and getting a huge bill
first question... what do frame sliders do?
What do i need to "lower" my bike
and are the front fairings in pieces or one big piece(headlight fairing)

Frame sliders protect your plastics (kinda)... they contact the ground first when your bike is dropped. usually hard plastic pucks bolted to the frame of the bike.
Front fairing is not one piece (stock).... some after market front fairings are one piece.
a 'lowering link' will lower the seat hight... you could probably also mess with the rear shock.
