Fork tube refurb?

Fork tube refurb?
Well guys, I finally got the fork slider apart from the fork tube. As I stated earlier there was scratches in the tubes, deep enough my finger nail would follow the trail. I'm wondering if there is any compound or anything I could do to save myself from buying new tubes. Something more cost efficient. Any ideas would help. I sanded it down starting with 600, 800, 1000, 1500, 2000. Then polished it up with mothers. I know this won't be enough. So i'm looking for extra help so this won't chew up my seals. Let me know. Thanks.

RE: Fork tube refurb?
Jasper,
If the scratches were that sever there is a strong possibility the tubes are no longer true. Not sure what else to offer then what you have already done.
There is always ebay or Forks by Frank. Cheaper then NOS.

RE: Fork tube refurb?
I read on this one site that several people used j.b. weld and sanded it down. Which helped and worked out fine. Here's the site.

I'll try the j.b. weld I guess. Worth a shot.
