I just purchased a 93 f2 but it has f3 upper fairing but it is so poorly put together I am just going to purchase a new upper but I am not sure if the fairing stay is from f2 or f3...how can i tell which it is

 

check the plug positions on the back of the gauge panel. if the plug positions on the fairing stay match the plugs from the handcontrols and the gauges then it is an F2. There really isn't a lot of difference in the 2 although there are differences. I have an F3 race fairing mounted on an F2 stay. works fine.
