F3 Speed Sensor?
I'm starting a new f2>600rr conversion project and have found a guy parting out an f3. I'm planning on using the F4i gauges and know that its possible to use the 900rr speed sensor and a couple others, but if I can get the F3 sensor at a bargain I'd like to use it. Is it possible?
The sensor needed for the guage conversion is the digital TEMP sensor on the 900rr.
The 600 uses an analog temp guage and the signal isn't compatible. The F4i guage gets
speed signal from the electronic ignition module. The f2 doesn't use electronic ignition
(I believe), so the guage conversion may not work, as planned. Doesn't the F2 use a
speedo cable to the front wheel? This is just speculation, as I've done the F3>F4i guage
conversion, NOT a F2>F4i.
Hope this helps, Ern

yeah, the F2 does use a cable for the speedo and that's the part of the conversion I have questions about. I know that the 900 sensor/sprocket cover will work as well as the sensor from a VFR, but I cant find any info on the F3 sensor.
I think the F3 sensor mounts to the block and takes it's reading from the output shaft for the front sprocket drive. That's why the one that mount into the sprocket cover like the VFR and 900 ar the ones to use.
