i just got my buddy to sell his 95 cbr900 to me to go along w/ my 929. im going to make it naked, my preference. im looking to put an electrosport gauge on it, but wondering what type of speed senser it has. its got the sensor on the sprocket cover. any help is appreciated.

im gonna try to sell most of the body parts, all but the tank and front fender, so if ya need something let me know
here she is, the speckles on it are mud that i thought were fun to put on w/ my rc car when he owned it. not so funny now

 

If it were a '93 I would guess the speed sensor is on the front wheel...but since yours is a '99 it could very well be on the front sprocket.

 

its a 95 but im guessing its a hall sensor. just want to clarify or be proven wrong so i know for sure when i get new gauges

Probably the sensor is off the front sprocket. What is a hall?

 

A hall sensor is a magnet wheel combo that reads the magnet revolution. The 95 bike does use a hall-type speedo sensor on the front wheel. That 98-99 models had the pick-up in the gearbox.

96-96 have a single magnetic pick up on the crank shaft, the 98-99's have 3 magnets.
