Default f2 turbo?

first off wanted to say thanks to you guys for the great advice, tips and info i have gotten already just from reading threads, shows that there are people out there that wanna help other enthusiests.

i do however have a question concerning my build. i have a 92 f2 i am turning it into a street fighter with a lot of cosmetic mods, now im onto the motor,i was thinking about installing a turbo but seem to run into one problem after another, an ideas on how this can work or if anyone else has done this?

turbo on a carbed motor isn't very difficult, but you do have to know how to properly set up a turbo system. Oiling, cooling, custom exhaust/intake manifold fabrication electronics or boost control, fuel delivery, fuel pressure, airflow metering, etc....

It is not a simple solution, and I'm not aware of any bolt on kits if you're not up to the fabricating.

the only thing im really concerned with is that i have to converte four carbs into blow through carbs, do you know if i can elimante the four carbs and bolt on one larger carb like a 500cfm and make a custom intake manifold?

I don't have enough experience with turbo I-4 bikes to have an opinion on the carb setup - in theory one carb would seem doable, but there is limited space under the tank, you're going to need the custom intake regardless. You'll have to have equal length runners, and equal flow rates and all that fun stuff, or you'll run into a/f mix inconsistencies.

Since there's no tuning for the ignition for our bikes beyond a simple advance or retard on the ignition (and that is done manually at the pulse rotor) - no Power commanders and stuff - I dunno if you'd need something like a Minisquirt controller - there's just dozens of paths you could take here. All with different requirements.

Best of luck.

Turbo lag? Lol jk. There is a YouTube video on a guy with a turbo 900RR. His method was the conventional turbo set up with a custom fabricated box which pressurized the air before entry into the carbies. Don't know what that method is called though. I really want to see a turbo F2! There are lots of great information on turbo bikes through the gixxer forums.
