F2 some assembly required

Below are the pictures of what came off the engine. I contacted the guy I got the bike from and he doesn’t know much about it since he bought it as a project. What he did tell me was that it was only running on 3 cylinders and it seemed like a head problem. So he was in the process of rebuilding the head only.

The airbox and scoop are also F3. There are a lot of other hoses and ducts that are needed to make the ram air work.
Not sure if you've got those. You'd also need a fuel pump, wiring harness and ECU from an F3.
It's a complex and ugly setup. I'd avoid it at all costs.
If you run the F2 carbs, all you need is a fuel line from the tank to the carbs.
You might be able to use the F3 airbox even, not 100% sure, but an F2 airbox should be hard to get if you have too.

It tells me the frame is an oem F3 frame. Not a modified F2 frame.
And the original motor is an F3, and the gauges, front wheel, radiator, carbs, airbox, bodywork, all F3.
I'm going back to my original assertion, that this bike is an F3, not an F2. Probably a 95 or 96.
So you've probably got an F3 wiring harness and ECU too.
The engine number is still weird. It's too bad the frame vin is not there, it would have the year.
I know a lot about F2s. I know some about F3. So it's easier for me to tell what is not F2 vs what is F3.
In other words, you'd probably be better off posting F3 question in the F3 section.
There are people there who know the F3's inside and out.
They will be able to tell you more accurately, what will and won't work for this bike.
More so than me.
I think given what you've got, you could use the F2 head/carbs with an F2 ECU.
Then just leave the TPS and fuel pump wires disconnected as the F2 ECU doesn't expect to see them anyway.
That would be a good question to run past the F3 people.

The style/font of the engine number is completely different on those 2 engine.
My wild *** guess - at some point in the bikes life it might have been stolen and someone re-stamped it because they had a 93 title.
Or it's the work of aliens...

Yeah, that's weird. Where on the frame did you find the vin?

it’s possible it was re-stamped.
I’ll make sure to get the ownership transferred into my name before I go too far with the rebuild.
