Thanks for replies. I will bring the switches inside today and take a closer look, and try to clean the contacts. Maybe that will take of this particular issue, and I can move on down the line until it decides to turn over. I'll post some pics of the switches for reference also.

I have been saving and labeling all fasteners in little bags, this is new for me though, in the past I've had a bench covered with parts and no idea where the F they came from!!

haha thats how i am. ususally when i work on the bike it looks like a parts bomb went off in my drive way. but i try to seperate the parts as much as i can.

Update: Went out and retested the kickstand switch, it's fine; I was testing the wrong leads. But the start switch is definitely dead, I'm not sure how to go about cleaning it though, it's hard to get to and doesn't seem to be able come out. Any tips would be great, before I go buy a new one, on how to clean the contacts. I've attached a pic of the part...Thanks
