I've just bought a CBR 600 for the Missus, and am a bit confused about the F, F2, F3 etc bit. Mine is marked CBR600F on the plate but is dated 07/93. What have I got? I need to know so I can get the right manual for it so the Missus can learn the joys of servicing a Jap four

My 1991 F2 is also marked with 600F on the side. Still it's definately an F2. (The fairings on the F1 looks completely different)

If it's a 93 you've got an F2.

1990 and earlier were the F's,F1'sor hurricanes, 91-94 were F2, 95-97? were F3 I think?

 

98 were F3 too

The F series will be missed. Tho the RR has the ball now n doin a great job, just not as rider friendly as the F series.
