engine troubles
Here's the deal. i am turning my 93 f2 into a streetfighterish kind of thing. I worked on it last summer and got it almost done but it sat out in the rain and snow all winter and fall with the gas tank off. Now it wont start. It wont even turn over. I sitched the starters with my other bike and same thing. Just CLUNK. I took the stator cover off and and tried and saw the starter do its best to turn the motor but nothing. the was some water n the oil coming out of the stator cover though. so i drained the rest of th oil and water started pouring out. there was alot. So i have a feeling taht this little water issue has something to do with the no start. Is my engine totally f'd in the a or is there some hope? htanx in advance.
Try this first. Take the timing cover off, well just the cap in the middle of the cover. Take a big ratchet (1/2 drive preferably) and try to spin the crankshaft to the right. If it spins with some ease and you still feel some compression in the engine, they it can possible be fixed. I would try this first, this will determine if you have to get a new motor or not. This had happened to me last year as well, long story short, water had gotten into the ingine through the carbs and into the pistons. Piston 2 and 4 were welded solid by rust, it took 3 cans of DW-40 and a 5lb hammer to break it free. The motor was complete screwed.
i did what you said Kray and it turned but it wasnt easy. I got a little too greedy and turned too much and twisted the bolt head off. So i think i am gonna pull the engine, take it apart, lose interest, and end up with a pile of useless metal. I would like to put a 900 in it but i am sure that is not easy. So anyone trying to get rid of a 900 engine let me know. this might be a stupid question but would the new engine have to be honda or could i make a kaw or yamaha or suzy work. any help would be greatly appreciated.

wtf?
...Anyway...
You can put whatever engine you want in there, you just have to make it fit and will have to make new engine mounting brackets... But I would say it's best to stick with what's close, ie an F3 motor or the 900.
How many miles were on your engine? I may be interested in some pieces from your motor that are salvageable.

the engine has about 30000 on it i believe. i pulled it apart and one of the pistons is rusty as hell. could i take the motor to a machine shop and have them bore the valves out and put bigger pistons in it. That would increase hp right. how much would someting like that cost?

Well the pistons don't go inside the valves, so if you wanted bigger pistons you need to bore the cylinders.
For a machine shop to rebuild your engine with boring, honing, valve job etc. would put you around $1500 for the labor.
For a piston set you're looking at $800 for wiseco
Then you need a gasket kit, fresh oil/filter, carbs will need to be jetted bigger and tuned.
For what it would cost, you could buy a nicer bike.
P.S. you crack me up.
I literally laughed out loud at your closing sentence, the first time I thought maybe you were from some foreign country where man-love was accepted and being "yours forever" was just part of your culture.
I busted a gut when I became your undying love.

the engine is now in a million pieces and im bored with it.. Now my problem is where to find the motivation to clean all that **** up. the worst part about that bike is that its got brand new pirrelli diablo's and a brand new Koso gauge. Oh well. Im sure ill use them some day. thanks for all the help. One more question. What is a good trustworthy website to buy parts that are good quality but not OEM prices. Bikebandit doesnt have enough stuff and ebay is hard to trust.
