i think my battery is straight up dead. i measured the volts.. less than 1volt. what would cause it to just die like that? also can someone do me a favor and measure resistance across the positive and negative leads for the battery (without the battery connected). thanks for the help thus far.

These batteries do just go bad like that...Get you a new one and if possible dont get the one from wal mart. Get a good one.. Good luck and keep me posted..

alrighty, here's an update. I took the battery to get it tested and recharged. Charged it back up and put it on with 12.72 volts. THE BIKE STARTED UP! I took it for a test ride. Got about 2 miles away, turned it off and now it won't turn back on. The main fuse blew again. Do I have a short somewhere? Where should I start lookin? How likely is it that the stator is messed up?
