Default Do the Problems ever stop.... Need some help

I replaced my voltage regulator with a new aftermarket one with fins hoping that it would fix my problem of my bike dieing after a long ride. So today during a 20min ride(first one with the new VR) my bike dies on the highway. I pull over and push start it and about after 3rd try the bike comes on. As im riding i turn the high beams on and the bike dies again. I switch them off then the bike turns back on. Im at the point where i dont know what to do. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Also the battery was fully charged before i left and now the headlights are dim when i turn the key..

The battery would die after long rides even when it was fully charged. So i assumed after reading some post that this was the problem.

sounds to me like the battery has packed it in. I noticed with my '94 that the batteries are not too robust; I overcharged mine and wreaked it. The VR might have damaged it. I bought a good quality Yuasa and it has lasted for several years with the stock VR. The trick is not to get sucked into throwing parts at it. Switching to high beam probably put the current demand just that little bit over the top and pulled the voltage down to the point where the ignition would no longer work. What is the voltage when the bike is running? Do the stator continuity checks as outlined in the manual it is either good or it's not. If your VR uses the factory spade connectors take a screwdriver and tighten them right up; that is where my problem was; the loose connections created heat and that takes out the diodes in the regulator. Good luck!

Oh yeah do a good search for loose connections at the battery and the main feeds to the fuses.
