Default dies out at idle...help?

So, had my bike running the other day, after a winter and then some due to legal issues. Started my bike for its first ride of the season tonight, choke is on, new battery, etc. She started up, and as soon as i gave her a little gas with the throttle she immediately cut out. Same happened repeatedly six or so times, left it at idle whilst i ran to get some wd 40 for the wasps who call my front fairing home, and it slowly sputtered out. Gas is old but was left with stabilizer in tank and a little in the lines, oil change right before i put her up. She was fine the other day, but now im confused. Any ideas whilst i thumb through my books?

The choke is on the entire time. (for clarity)

make sure your fuel valve is on? lol

why the new battery?

feel the headers to see if all of them are equally warm, to determine if some of your cylinders just aren't working properly. that would help narrow the problem a little bit.

lol, yes, petcock is on. first thing i checked.
New battery since the other had a dead cell.
I'll feel the headers once the neighbors or the stinging angry variety are gone.

Is there ANY possibility of the idle adjustment being set too low that it would contradict the throttle? Im so damn stressed. Thank god for beer.

My bike was doing something like this, turned out to be a pinched vacuum line.

Try cracking your tank and then try starting it.

Narrowed down the problem to gunk in my jets. Have to rebuild my carbs this weekend. Anyone know if the o-rings i need would be in a metric o-ring style set from autozone? 50 bucks vs. 100 is really no argument. Thanks for all the replies.

Carbs were never gunked. one of two carbs that have vac line on it, the damn float needle valve was all swollen up and brittle. got it on order. cant wait to finally ride.

you dont need the choke on for very long. if you had it on the whole time you were messing around, you may have fouled a plug.
