Default Clip-on or Stock Handlebar??

Hello all,

I live in San Francisco on top of a large hill. In my haste, I jumped off the bike ( 1993 CBR600F2) outside my apartment only to realise in shock that I have left the bike in neutral. To my dismay, the bike is rolling down the hill and needless to say, she comes off the stands and falls to the right. The right handlebar is now bent and touches the gas tank. I looked up Clip-ons as an alternative to replace the stock handlebar. Clip-on set from Vortex or Woodcraft= $140. RHS Stock handlebar = $180. Money tells me that I should go for the clip-ons but when I spoke to my mechanic, he says that what I save in cost of the clip-ons, I would spend on labor since the clip-ons have to be drilled to allow for the switchgear to fit in. Is this true? So the labor would cost me more than simply getting the stock handlebar and replacing it.
If you think clip-ons work better, can you suggest betweenVortex (7mm down angle) or Woodcraft?

Thank you!
