Default Charging Issues? Battery?

So I've had some issues with the charging system on my F2 since I got it. I am on my third battery at the moment. I've replaced the rectifier with a much beefier, brand new plug and play unit. Now at idle I'm getting a little under 13V at the battery, increasing with RPM up to about 14.5V. Thinking everything is fixed I took it out for a spin on Saturday night. Everything was fine, voltage was where it needed to be when all of a sudden I'm at a light a couple blocks from my apartment and I see the voltage drop down near 12.6 at idle. I rev it up and get to the top of the hill above my house, I pull the clutch and it just dies. Won't restart. I coast home and stick it on the battery tender overnight. The battery reads 12.6V with the ignition off, and like 11.3V with the lights on. It starts right up and runs fine, but I don't trust it. I don't have a load tester to test the battery with, but seeing as the rectifier is brand new, I feel like it has to be the battery. What do you guys think?

My battery reads significantly higher. 13V at idle, and I got a 90w headlight

Default bad battery?

i would look at the stator it sounds like the alternator isnt charging the battery. when the bike died did the fan turn on and drain the battery.

I disagree with CBRme (no offence)... I would say that idle V is about right and increasing with revs to 14.5 V is good too.... which would be thanks to the stator and R/R putting juice into it.

+1 for bad battery. Probably not holding the charge... are fluid levels correct? Did you replace battery after getting the new R/R?

So I got a new battery the other day. This problem occurred with the old battery from before the new R/R.

I've charged it up and will drop it in after work. Hopefully this will take care of my electrical issues. If not, I guess the stator is the only thing left to replace.

you could check the stator output with multimeter and compare to specs (in your manual). could save the cost of replacement stator as the problem might be a loose/pinched wire somewhere.

no offence taken i had done the exact same thing and then i did test the system with a multimeter and wasnt getting the right amount of charge so i replaced the stator and the problem was fixed just sharing what happened to me. i did it myself for$160 and the shop wnated $1050...getting a little greasy always saves money.

Well, so far so good. I put the battery in and took it for a ride yesterday evening despite the freezing temperatures and the voltage looked good. The next test is to take it out for an extended period and make sure it doesn't die on me like it did on the Turnpike.
