Default Bogging at start up

My bikes been having an issue with cold starts. Usually I start up using full choke, let it idle up to 3k then turn choke off, but lately it will not reach 3k on choke. Then when I ride away it will start bogging until I give it a handful of throttle, once it clears its throat it will run pretty much perfect.

Any Ideas?

Sounds like a fuel delivery issue. My first thought is the carbs have some crap in them and need cleaning. (usually the case) other less common problems could be: blockage in the in-tank filter, blockage in fuel line, petcock is loose causing vacuum leak....gotta be one of those, good luck.

Not to old, I'd say they would have 5-6k kilometres on them at the most.

just my thot when it cuts out. pull the vacuum pipe from the carb. suck on it (shut it) if it starts you have a petcock problem with the vacuum system

This problem seems to be getting worse, today it kept stalling on me as I was trying to ride away and I had to go WOT up the street to keep it running (my neighbors must hate my lately) then after that it ran ok again.

Could it be a blocked idle jet?

Hilton thanks for the suggestion I will take a look at the petcock also, last time I opened it up the diaphragm looked ok, but I guess it is possible.

So today I found the breather tube from the tank all coiled up, but not quite kinked. I have no idea how it got like that but after I fixed it the engine warmed up ok on choke and reached 3k.
Hopefully that’s all it was but I'll have to see how it runs during the week.
