Default Blowing my fuse! 91 F2

Hey Guys!

I just recently bought a 1991 F2 and I'm having some electrical problems.

The guy I bought the bike from tried to start it using a charger on the wrong setting. He ended up melting the plug that connects to the rectifier which has since been replaced. The problem now is every time I go to start it a 10 amp fuse blows.

Does anyone have any idea where the short could be? Has anyone had this problem before? Could it be the starter itself? I replaced the fuse with a piece of wire (I know, not a really great idea) and all I got was a really faint, dull noise coming from the starter area when I tried to start it.

I took the starter out and bench tested it and it would spin, then when I shut if off and tried again it wouldn't spin again until I manually advanced the gear and tried again.

Any help would be so much appreciated.

Thanks so much!!

where is the fuse ???
is it the one in the fuse box on the right side of the fairing?
or the one in the starter solenoid??
if it's the latter it should be a 30A fuse

It's the fuse in the fuse box on the right side of the bike. However, that's not happening anymore. The problem is, for a little while, the bike will only turn over sometimes and now it won't turn over at all. I'm thinking it's the starter. Before I go ahead and get one does anyone have any idea at all if there is anything else I could check?

Thanks!
