Default bike got kicked over

Had to happen when parking my bike in the street,

Someone kindly kicked my bike over, front fairing, wind screen and mirror broken, scratches down right front fairing, Thanks to some imbecile numb nut....

The question is now, do i try and find original fairings or do I get a cheapo kit sand it down and repaint my bike in a matte finish... liked the original colour scheme but unsure how expensive it will be to reproduce... I asume i need a whole new fairing set in order to get a good result.. . can anyone anyone with some experience please comment on this ???

Not sure why you would need a whole new set. Find someone that does good repair bodywork and paint.

I would be pissed if this ever happened to me man, but if you dont find someone to fix those fairings, look for oem farirings, the chinese fairings will most likely not line up with oem, I'm like 80% sure they wont. Check out ebay or the forums here for some fairings, I believe JNS should have some but dont recall which one's or what sides he has. Goodluck and hopefully you get it sorted out.

I've got a set of Cheetah Race Fairings that I would be willing to work with you on.

These people do these kinds of things because they're stuck in a viscious cycle of self destruction. They don't know how to create for themselves, make money, hold a job, find happiness in life. So they're hoplessness leads them to steal and destroy other peoples livlihood and what they work so hard for. Anyways, I always KNOW there are jealous punks out there that would love to do the same to my bike, so I take as much precaution as possible. Always park the bike where there is the most traffic going by. Vehicles and people. Park in front of a window of a business where there are people occassionally looking out. If parking in a car space, leave the bike so the tail can be seen. This way cars won't assume the space is empty, shoot in and hit the bike. If I caught someone who did to my bike what they did to yours, they'd be making a trip to the hospital.

Hospital... definitely... but what I would WANT to do is give them a trip to the MORTUARY!!

Am I saying I would kill someone for theft or vandalism, no, I'm not, but consider this odd philosophy I have:

When you purchase something, you purchase it with the money you made working, the person who kicked your bike over stole from you, just as if he had taken parts from your bike, rather than break them, so, he has taken from you the money it will cost you to repair it, AND the money it cost you to aquire it to begin with - the time you spent working for the money, and the time you will spend working for it again, can never be returned to you... that time is gone, it is part of your life, and it is now gone, so he has, in the most simple terms we can reduce this to, taken part of your LIFE from you!

I wonder if that's why some countries have been known for chopping the hands off of thieves?!?

I agree with you completley. I like your philosophy and you're totally right about the stealing idea. I've had my car broken into more times than I can remember and it's the worst feeling of violation, maybe besides rape (don't know) you can have. To see some coward has broken your property in the middle of the night, gone through everything and taken some. You experience the whole idea of the pain, suffering and persistence it took you to acquire those things. They may even take/damage your property when you don't have money for rent that month or food. Or when you already have enough Sh*t to deal with such as having lost a family member or job. Anyways. If you look, statistically I think crime has steadily gone up continuously since the days when you could leave your bicycle outside in the front yard, unlocked without worrying about it being gone in the morning. There's a number of reasons for this. I encourage you to take a good look at many of the Laws in Singapore. They have the death penalty for even carrying illegal drugs. If you have coke in your bag and someone else put it there. You die. Period. If you rape or deface property, you get caned. Caning is extremely painful. There's tough penaltys for littering, etc. These are just a few examples of the harsh laws in Singapore. Having said that, Singapore is a great place. People are normal, happy, social just like any other place. It's clean, beautiful with a very low crime rate and one of the safest places for a woman to walk at night. People do things because the can get away with it and the penalty is not harsh enough. I saw court video of a young man being sentenced for some crime. While the judge was talking, the young man, handcuffed in front. Without notice, suddenly turned to his right, stepped up to a trash can and began to urinate. Penaltys are not harsh enough.
