Battery dying

Default Battery dying

hey guys my battery keeps dying

i bought a new battery and it died too, it has this wierd smell coming from it, but when i opened up the bike and looked, everything looked fine. any idea whats going on? im thinking that maybe i have a faulty ground or something.

The smell is almost always something burning. You want to pay extra close attention to what is happning when you mess with your battery. Check all your connections. Look at all the wires to see if they are damaged or melted. It sounds lke you have some sort of short.

Very carefully. lol. You dont have to take it completely off. You just have to rig it to stay up so you can get under it. No fuel shut-off on the take right? Then just prop it up. I have to do this when i Change my plugs. I have a 2001 929rr.

are you talking about a petcock? (fuel shut off).... what should i expect though is what im saying... is there omething connected down there to diliver fuel ( i assume so ) how should i go about it procedurly
