Back Again another question!About the pull cable For throttle
Ok got the bike running awsome.just bled the brakes.Got all that nasty **** out.Works awsome.only ONE more problem im having the manual doesnt help me with.Since i got the bike its been doing this. But when i pull the throttle It doesnt snap back.I tried adjusting that thing on the handlebars by the throttle that doesnt do it.And its hooked up to the carbs Correctly?..What else Am i missing? Why doesnt it pull back. Also seems really ruff to pull the throttle back also when i give it gas Any help? idea's? suggestions?
Lube the cables, and the linkage on the carb... make sure the hand grip is not rubbing on anything.
Might want to take the throttle drum/tube off and clean/grease the clip-on.

Ok ill give it a shot.idk tho..when i pull it it does feel like its not springing back not a hung up type feeling but a feeling it just aint coming back.but then again the throttle is alil stiff to pull to so maybe they just need some lubing.Also..is there many active members on here. Its always the same people responding to my dumb stupid questions haha
Not a lot of full time active members, usually people come and go...
Only a few of us can put up with the same questions over and over [sm=repost.gif]

I have no problem explaining things to people, most stuff is common sense.
The more people that know how it's done, the more people that can answer other peoples questions.

yea i hear that.its weird with this honda book tho..the STUFF you really need to know.it doesnt tell you..For example how to adjust the push and pull cables its not there, just other stuff i've came across its not there..ya think it would be
I just had this same problem. It's most likely your cables are getting kinked or too tight. Either way will "lock up" the throttle like that. Make sure the cable routing is through the middle of the forks, under the holder, and screw the nuts at the end pull cable so there's no space on the top left.
I think it kind of comes and goes who answers questions in the F2 area. If you start to recognize the username, like Hershey, chances are they actually know what they're talking about.
Throttle linkages can be a pain when they sit for a long time. You'll want to get a cable lube tool or just wrestle with spraying some lube down the inside of the cable. You can easily use the same can of lube for your chain. Like its been said they should be routed straight down the middle. try and move the throttle with the gas tank off and see if the resistance isn't on the carbs themselves. What you may have to do is lubricate all that linkage on the carbs themselves.
Also, like most bikes this is a push/pull system. So you've actually got two cables, one for opening throttle and one for the return. pay attention to how the action on the carbs themselves works when rotating the throttle with your hand. you should have only a very slight bit of slack in the cable at the carb when its closed for the pull cable, and when its wide open for the push.

I also have the sticky throttle problem.
Bought new cables, and the problem was still there.
Then I figured out that the white nylon inner throttle grip is worn, and it snags in the groove it rotates in.
Ill have to order a new one soon.
