BTW if gas is overflowing from your carbs into a cylinder, or not shutting off properly, you have a bad float needle or float, fix your carbs and you wont need to worry about the petcock.
The floats should push the needles up and shut of the gas eeven if you have a straight line to a drum of fuel.

Are you having this overflowing issue on one carb or all of them ? if this is only on one or two carbs then fixing the petcock will not resolve the issue. If you are having this problem with all of the carbs then it can be as simple as adjusting the air/fuel screws under each of the carbs. Have you mayd any mods to your carbs ?

Seems to be only one carb, and it only happens every so often. At this point, i have disassembled the petcock, removed the rubber and it's retainer plate, ground seats into the petcock body, staked the steel ball into them and added a stronger preload spring and it's working well. I've had the carbs off of this thing numerous times for both cleaning and tuning. They were totally gummed up when I bought it, to the point it wouldn't even run. I've inspected the needle and seats repeatedly and found no problem with them, plus I've had them of for jetting and tuning several times. I suspect I've gotten a little trash in the fuel system. When I did the mods to the petcock, I added an inline fuel filter, and have had no more issues so far. I think I'm still gonna do a Pingle petcock at some point in time though. Thanks for all the suggestion and help guys. [8D]
