Default 94 CBR600F2

Im interested in buying a 1994 F2 with 4,500 original miles on it for $1900. its primer black with minor scratches on right side.

Is it a good buy? or do you think that it seems to unreal with such low miles?i was also wondering if there were any typical problems that seem to happen to F2's? i look forward to your input!

Twist the throttle and see if it snaps back like a new bike. I think it should.

Also, look at the rubber handgrips and if they are stock, how worn are they? They shouldn't be worn at all.

Look at the rubbercoveringon thefootpegs, where you put your feet, they shouldn't be worn at all either.

Look at everything closely....the metal coverings on the engine, etc...the whole way the bike looks. Does it give you a feeling it really has only 4xxxx miles? How does the engine run? And how does the whole bike feel when riding it...the brakes, the transmission shifting, everything.

Good luck !

When you sit on the bike and it's upright, does the suspension sag or is it still very firm like a new bike?

Another clue

Is the bike 100% stock, other than the paint? Does it have all kinds of aftermarket parts? If it does, I would wonder why.

Excellent post above by MT. I'd also check for slop or play in the clutch lever/perch and the pegs. With that miles they should both still be snug and not have any play from excessive wear. If you think it's legit, that sounds like a good deal. I paid $1500 for mine with 30K on it, but it runs like new.

Good luck!

Add to the list:

Brake rotors- are they "stupid clean" ? , as I like to say

Paint on the wheels-chipped/worn on the edges

Bar end weights- is the paint worn?

The mirrors in the pic don't look OEM.

Rust/corrosion on exhaust header.Header should be "stupid clean",no corrosion

Great stuff up there - kudos MT,I tip my hat to you.

Thanks guys, as you know I learned this the hard way.

Just don't want him to make the mistake I did

If it is legit, that is a super deal!

Those are ebay mirrors, probably replaced due to the crash which is the same reason it's frankenbike'd with paint and bodywork.

Find out what F2's came stock with for tires, at 4500 miles it probably has the original rubber.
