Working a few hours after work each night, I finally got the race fairnings shot with three coats of primer, and did a once over lightly with 400 grit, and a final touch with 1000 grit, so they'll have a smooth paint finish (hopefully).
Last night, I got the uppers re-drilled for the mounts to the fairing stay, and starting tonight, I'll start applying the first finish coat.

Well, here's to hoping you're right! This is the first time I've done paint/bodywork since 17 years old, so we'll see how it goes... this is just the race bodywork, after all, but I still would like it to turn out nice!

I got the race fairings all painted at last - just in time for plenty of drying time, before mounting them up.

I used one of the first designs of my race exhaust hanger, to chop up and modifiy, for use as part of the mounting for the race tail section...

...this allowed me to remove the heavy stainless steel pan, which is the base of the Fender Eliminator kit.

The race bodywork has allowed me to shave an additional 8 lb, 9oz, off of my previous track-day setup.

Uh, well, there's been no lapse in riding, the bike's had it's "street clothes" on, while I worked on the "business ensemble"!

Also, last year I rode every day of the year, except when we traveled northeast for Christmas - while we were gone, was the only time there was any snow in Kansas, and it was gone in one days time. It was an extremely mild winter... usually, when we go to Dubuque for Christmas, the conditions are awful, and there's piles of snow everywhere, but last year, there was zero snow in Dubuque, nor anywhere on the 10 hour drive!
