Nice, the bike is going to look great when completed. My CBR F3 project was supposed to be a budget oriented track bike and after a while the budget just spun out of control. Last tally, I was up to $3000 and that is after I sold parts from a donor bike to make up the cost. Keep up the good work and ignore the accolades coming from us, that just puts a battery in your back to want to spend more to build up the project

Thanks!
I do find myself wanting to do more. Paint this, clean that, replace this, but for now I just want to get it back together. Otherwise, it will end up a never ending project sitting unridden in my garage.
I just want to ride!

I replaced by original stem bearing a while ago. I went with some tapered roller bearings. They definitely fixed the slop I had with the worn out originals. But I'm not sure I like the feel of the tapered bearings. They've given my bike a low speed weave that I just can't get rid off. It seems like the tapered bearing must have a bit more friction and not center properly causing me to over correct. I've tried tighter and looser until the stem has play, nothing seem to fully get rid of the weave.

My new fairings arrived today, although the bike isn't ready for them.
The package arrived damaged, unfortunately. It was squashed.
This caused the headlight centerpiece to brake, and tabs to scratch paint on a few fairings.
The rear right tail section had a small bit brake too.
I'm working with the seller now. They "should" be sending me two replacements, and a refund of $75 to cover damage AND the fact that the listing was for injection molded, but these are compression. they also forgot the heat shielding O.o
Overall they look nice. The plastic isn't warped or too thin.
The tank trim piece seems to fit ok, with a bit of warping around the gas fill hole, but some sticky tape will cure that.
I'm sure I'll have to modify some of the tabs, but it won't be a big deal.
I need to get my wheels done to match the repsol orange.

Here's a few pieces laying in the basement.

Ah, Repsol makes any bike a beauty in my eyes.

The front is coming back together. I finally got a wheel back on it, then remembered I need to change it's tire.

I have a good one from an F3, but the mounting holes for the brake light are slightly different. The fender eliminator kits are stupid expensive. So I need to fab something my self.

Update of sorts.
I bought a harbor freight tire changer, which needs modification, and an air compressor.
I'm working on changing the tires myself, but have damaged the paint on the lip of the rear wheel, which is why I need to modify the device.

I picked up a '94 suzuki rf 600r for cheap. Just needs carb work. I'm going to sell it and use the money towards my cbr and/or buy another bike to flip.
ALSO, I found one of the original owners of my F2!
I posted up in a local riders forum about my cbr project. This guy just happens to read it and showed me this.

That's how it used to look before he sold it. It's changed hands maybe 3 times since.

I've been dealing with the Chinese seller of my fairings. Finally getting two replacement pieces sent because of two parts damaged in shipping, both of which I intend to fix anyways. He is also shipping me an F3 front wheel fender, needed because of the fork swap.

Here's the suzuki, in case anyone was curious. When I sell it, the profit will cover my original F2 purchase and the fairings for it.
I will likely get the CBR nice and pretty, ride it for most of the season, then sell it for profit as well.
The shop I bought this suzuki from get's in wrecked or non running bikes often. I may see if he will sell me another cbr during the winter. He's got a wrecked Smoking joe F3 just in. He Got it for only $200 Frame is toast, but core items are good.
I'd love to come across a deal like that.

Removing the rear tire is proving to be a PITA.
I've removed one before and it went ok.
I've been watching videos and haven't seen someone struggle this much.
The sidewall is just so freaking stiff.

Going to strip it and polish it.

Plus I'm making an ABS mixture to fix the buster inner rear fender.
