900 swap

RE: 900 swap
do a search there are a bunch of articles from me and RSP919 on it.. i will look for them too.
it wasnt too bad you have to make a motor mount and cut one shorter. the biggest pain is gettting it tuned right because you cant run a airbox. that and i broke a motor mount on the block after the first ride and it cost about 300 to get it welded back on because it was alum. and they had to be careful because of the seals. that and making sure that the front and rear sprockets aligned right. i think i had about 1200 total in the swap.

RE: 900 swap
i used a 93 900.. make sure to check for the infamous 2nd gear pop out.. alot of the 900RR's have the gear dogs stripped on them and the bike will pop out of gear in 2nd when you get on it pretty good mostly from wheelies without using the clutch. i have that problem on the engine that i bought and i replaced the shift forks but it is still doing it. now i am rebuilding the trans..
