Default 1994 CBR600 electrical issues

Hello everyone, I recently bought a 94F2 with a blown motor. I've already found another engine and am super excited. I bought one of these new in high school and have wanted it back ever since. I brought it home and the battery was dead, it's been sitting in a garage for a couple years. I hooked booster cables up from my snowmobile and all the electronics came on. Lights, signals, horn etc all fine...then it suddenly shut off. It was still hooked up to the sled. All the fuses are good including the main. The wires don't looked burnt at the rectifier ( not sure if you lose all power when they go). Any thoughts on where to start?

Take the old battery out and try again, it could be that one or more cells are shorted and dragging the voltage down.

I had the old battery out when I hooked it up to the sled. I had the booster cables clamped on the battery wires. It sounds like a bad ground , I can't see anything so far but it seems strange that it suddenly lost power just sitting there
