I've been having issues with my F2 sputtering then losing power. I believe it's an issue with the fuel so I replaced the F2 petcock with an F3, but ultimately I still have to pull to the side of the road and let more gas drain through. There is an external fuel filter plugged between the petcock and engine. I'm pretty sure that's causing it to not receive enough fuel and the fuel filter itself isn't supposed to be there from parts diagrams I've looked at. If anyone can confirm my suspicion and if this would help it run properly I'd appreciate.
The easiest and quickest thing to check is to open the fuel cap when you get in this condition.
If the bike staets running better right away it means you have a clogged or pinched vent tube.
Bit of a late reply, sorry. Before posting this thread I took apart the petcock assembly, and checked the vent tubes or air stuck in the tank. There didn't seem to be an issue. I have an image below but I was curious if this fuel filter should exist between the petcock and engine?
