Default Wtf!!!

Had my coolant drained and replaced with Engine Ice. Had my bike in the garage just idling (granted it was reving high for no more than 5 minutes) and when I went back out to the garage the bike was puking coolant. I was under the impression that Engine Ice was suppose to help keep your bike from overheating quickly. Should I have the termostat switched? Does anyone have an idea of what my issue could be?

1. Did you fill the entire bike with Engine Ice? If so that was the incorrect thing to do as it is a coolant ADDITIVE not a coolant suppliment, meaning it is to be added to coolant, not act as it.

2. Did you bleed the lines before you started it, IE leave the fuel tank removed and coolant cap removed on first startup and "BLIP" the throttle several times to around 5000 RPM to remove the majority of the air pockets?

3. Was your coolant fan working? I have had a few occasions when I have left the bike idling in the garage to drain the carbs and came out with coolant all over the floor because it has boiled over due to an inoperable cooling fan. If your fan isnt working diagnose your cooling fan system. Mine had corrosion in the motor brushes not allowing them to make contact with the fan stator. Simple fix.

Yeah, I had the whole bike filled up with engine ice. But that was because the bottle of engine ice said it was a hi-performance coolant. The website said it was a coolant and should not be mixed with any other coolants. The guy at the motorcycle dealer parts department said it was a coolant. Nothing led me to believe I needed to add coolant with the engine ice.
Engine Ice - F.A.Q

Yes my fan works. Do you know if I can have a second fan installed to help improve the cooling process. What do you guys use to help keep your cbr600 from over heating. This is my first bike so any recommendations would be appreciated.

Ah, ok my bad, I assumed you meant a variant of PURPLE Ice (which is just a small bottle of additive.)

You didnt mention if you bled the lines VIA blipping the throttle with the cap removed.

Yes you could install a second fan I guess in front of the radiator as a blow through setup, but this should not be necessary if your cooling system is operating properly.

If your cooling fan is working, and your water pump is running, the only thing i can think of is air in the system, or your thermostat is FUBAR'd and needs replacement.

Unless of course if you overfilled the overflow resovoir? If this is overfilled, when your coolant heats up it will puke coolant from the overflow tube. Was the engine temp gauge actually in the overheating range? Or was this just excess coolant comming out of the overflow?

I had a guy in a local shop here in Ohio change my coolant, and he said that he tried to get all the air bubbles out but their may be a small air bubble or two. This being my first bike I didn't think too much about it, because he said it as if it would spill out a little coolant to get rid of the air bubble. However, my bike was spitting it out in a constant stream from the excess hose at the bottom.
The temperature gauge on my bike was all the way up on the top half of the red block, but not overheating light never came on. I rode it the other day and it still got pretty hot, but never got all the way up to the top.
If I change the thermostat is that by the water pump or at the top of the radiator?

your thermostat is in the housing in front of your filler cap (under the fuel tank).
