what are our wheels made of? I'm just curious. I need to paint mine as they are nicked and peeled in some places and won't come clean. Any info would be great, thanks.

 

I am pretty sure they are magnesium aluminum, or cast aluminum.

 

So will they polish up? If so i will just strip them and go at it, just want to know before i get in over my head. Thanks.

cast aluminum, yes, they will polish

 

your best bet would to have the rims (PMBed) plastic metel bead blasted im stead of sand blasted. Look in your local yellow pages for metal stripping, call around and get quotes.

I would also call around on having the rims polished by a professional. I had my GL1800 rims polished for $25.00 a rim so it does not cost that much. good luck.
