Trade: I give you aftermarket exhaust, I take stock can!
Hey everyone!
So here's the situation: I'm restoring an 88 CBR600F, and I don't want to bother with rejetting. The bike came with a full exhaust (viper or some other brand) that was a full exhuast, and I just don't want to deal with it.
The headers will need work. They for one are quite rusty, however they are far from rusted through. Also, it looks like some one curbed them and they are dented in. Nothing even a semi experienced welder shouldn't be able to handle. The can itself is great, and even sounds pretty good.
All I need is the stock ehaust can. I don't need the headers as I rustled up a pair of stock headers. This can is not simply bolt on with stock headers, it will require custom work or welding.
I'll also include four exhaust gaskets with the trade, since I've got six more leftover from switching back to stock headers!

I was in the same situation as you - 1989 CBR600 with aftermarket header and exhaust. I too did not want to deal with the loud sound and the issues with jetting, etc - I had a bit of a hard time finding the OEM mufflers for 87 to 90 in decent shape. I took a chance and bought an F2 muffler on eBay and it fits great. There are a lot more clean exhausts on eBay from the 91 to 98 bikes than from the hurricanes....Should you not find anyone to trade you, just check out eBay - I am sure you already thought of this, but I just wanted to mention that the F2 and F3 mufflers will fit just fine onto an F1 with stock headpipe. I actually like how my bike looks more with the F2 muffler than with an F1 muffler. Here is one pretty decent one I just found - http://tinyurl.com/2uwwj3a
