On the hurricane i just picked up, the previous owner had some maxxis tires put on. They're actually the same model and sizes as my ninja 500 has. 110/70/17 and 130/70/17

I keep reading very positive reviews about the Michelin Pilot Road 2s (radials). Did anyone have a chance to try them yet?

Currently running Bridgestone Battlax BT45 and due for a change. The Dunlop501s are not an option. I'm only debating between sticking with the Bridgestones (bias ply) or going the Michelin route.

Dalex, how do you like the BT45's on yours?

I got mine with a 120/70/17 front and 160/60/17 rear Pirelli Diablo set. not a bad tire at all.

I'm considering the BT45's and a few others in a 110/80/17 and 140/80/17 or 150 rear for mine.

Just a side note, the 160 WILL fit the rim, but is not a good size because it is too wide and becomes pinched in the rim, creating potential handling issues.

same for the 120 front.

i Have the michelin tires both front and rear 110 in front and 140 in rear no handling issues at all. Look these bikes were engineered with this size for a reason going and changing stock **** is fun yes, but can sometimes alter your bike in funny ways mine is completly stock and runs perfect. I have maintaned it extremely well and this in return is an extremly rteliable bike. Just some food for thought.
